Many people have probably heard stories from grandparents, as they were still little played different coins. Perhaps some of them are preserved in your house, but mostly they have long been lost and distributed. Where did these old coins come from, which usually have good safety?

Some of them were passed down from generation to generation - frequent monetary reforms were constantly taken out of circulation money. To part, that’s so easy, with them many were in no hurry, although they lost their value. This is especially true of coins that have been minted from silver.
Each family disposed of such inheritance in its own way: some of them simply kept, so, just in case, others made jewelry or household items, and some simply handed out to children for toys.

But the coins in the house appeared not only so, a significant part of them just was. In the Soviet years, with the beginning of the construction boom, many old, even before the revolutionary, houses in cities and villages were demolished. During the analysis and found money cubes hidden in walls, furnaces, attics and basements of houses.

Not a few of them were found during the processing of land both in their garden and in the fields. They came across, of course, by accident - solitary losses just during the digging of the earth, and treasures while digging holes under the foundations, during the planting of trees or they were c/s technique.

No matter who, when and how they were raised they were all eyes. In those days, no one had heard of the metal detector.

And is it possible nowadays to find at least a few coins without using the device?

There are only two options for purposeful search:

1) Search for mortgage coins in abandoned homes.

2) On the sites of former villages.

How to use a metal detector and what to find
The first version is detailed in a separate article, you can read it here.

Looking for coins with your eyes for years so 15-20 years ago it was quite real. Fields and tracts were not touched by diggers, so from time to time they came across. However, it is worth noting that there were no special people willing to collect them at that time.

Now, to find something will have to try. The most realistic thing is to find coins in the plowed fields, in the places where once stood villages, postal stations, inn, etc.

The earth is plowed either in spring or at the end of summer. That’s when you need to walk. It is advisable to do it after the rain. It is clear that the raw arable land is not very pleasant to walk, for that coins lying on the surface at times you can see better. Silver coins attract glitter, copper - green, and Soviet - yellow patina.

It was hard not to notice.

You need to walk slowly, carefully inspecting the surface of the field. Particular attention should be paid to those places where there are many fragments of bricks, stones, utensils and ceramics.

In addition to the fields, the king’s money is still found on the banks of rivers, near crossings, bridges, piers. The river changes course every year, the shore is washed and coins can be on the surface.

Much less often such finds can be on country paths and paths, usually on descents, ascents or near old large trees.

One more way to mention it is to bookmark the shurfs. This is a very time-consuming and difficult job. It pays off in exceptional cases - when you know for certain the location of the treasure. The essence of it is to consistently remove the ground in this area or dig trenches at certain intervals.
