Products designed to search for metal objects were designed in the twenties of the twentieth century. Initially, they existed to ensure that workers did not carry home without demand from their workplace various metal objects and products made by these plants.  how does metal detector works do metal detectors work underwater how accurate are metal detectors do metal detectors really work when was metal detector invented technical description of metal detectors metal detector theory of operation what can metal detectors detect.

They were originally called a metal detector. Literally from English, "metal detector" translates as "detecting metal." Of course, in the first place such entertaining and necessary products have become interesting to military people. And when the Second World War began, designers began to develop devices that are able to detect and find metal objects.

Technical equipment in the Soviet Union developed very rapidly, and, of course, soon our compatriots were able to design worthy products that detect mines. When the Second World War ended, many people in the United States were able to purchase such products for themselves. They were among the first to appreciate all the benefits of metal detectors, which were primarily designed to search for and detect mine products. Many people found various treasures and treasures that lay in the ground for a long time. Deposits of a huge number of gold bars were also discovered by these lucky ones, but, of course, at that time any technique was very far from perfect.

Therefore, such devices for the search of metals had huge dimensions and considerable weight. This, of course, caused discomfort to their owners when searching for the long-awaited treasure, treasure or at least coins. Such products, of course, were very uneconomical. They were used for a huge amount of energy, as a source of which were special vacuum bulbs.

But, of course, the technique is progressing and constantly improving. Therefore, closer to the sixties of the twentieth century, scientists have finally designed devices that are able to detect even the smallest metal targets. They could already classify metals by type and composition. Such products were much smaller and much more economical than their predecessors. Various indicators of weather, ambient temperature, humidity, wind and many other similar characteristics have begun to affect these products to a much lesser extent than in previous metal detectors.

And, of course, the progress of electronic technology did not stop there. Every year metal detectors became more compact, self-sufficient, convenient, economical and, of course, more functional. They could already be used to select the criteria for the desired object. So, in order to fully understand what the subject matter is, we should look at these products in more detail

.

What is a metal detector and how it works
A metal detector or metal detector is a special electronic device that functions on the principle of induction. This product is able to find various metal objects thanks to the recognition of special electromagnetic waves emanating from this object. Such devices can be used both in low-conducting soil, and in non-conducting land, i.e. in a neutral environment.

Metal products of various alloys and dimensions can be found even in water, houses, various buildings, living organisms, food industry waste objects, under people's clothes or in their bags. This does not create any contact between the metal object and the metal detector. Anyway, it's not necessary. It is enough just to bring the necessary detail of this product to the soil (usually a search coil or head) and the metal detector will do everything itself.

It functions on the principle of radiation of different waves. These waves change when a metal object is nearby. After that, all changes in wave indicators are recorded by a special device. Then all the results that signal the finding of the desired object are analyzed and streamlined. These electronic induction devices display waves emanating from objects using a special generator coil.

This is all done by changing the original signal of the metal detector. When the difference in the signal and received is fixed by the device's electronic block, an audible signal is sent by the metal object. Its alternative in this technique can be the movement of arrows or other different visuals and so on. But you can be sure that finding a decent metal treasure in the vicinity will not go unnoticed.

The metal detector consists of several details. As a rule, in which products there are only five.
It can be a special control unit. It includes a complex system of electronic circuits and boards designed to search for metal. This part is both the most complex and, of course, the most important part in this device. With the advent of these control units, metal detectors have become very fragile and vulnerable, because if this mechanism gets moisture or with it any mechanical damage and impacts, then most likely, the metal detector will stop Function.

As a rule, the safety of such products is guaranteed by the use of special covers that protect metal detectors from concussions and many of the above dangers. As a rule, this complex system of boards in such a product is on a special bar. Using connectors, this unit receives, analyzes and selects signals coming there from a special coil.

Most metal detectors also have special armrests, which are made for the convenience of the owner of this product. As the name of this important detail suggests, it is designed to make it more convenient to fix your master's right or left hand on a metal detector. This product is fixed on the top of the main top barbell, which we will look at in detail later. This product is fixed with the help of special bolts.

The top barbell, which is considered to be the most important and main part of this product, usually has the form of the English letter "S". It is on this product should rely on the hand of the owner. Such a detail is located on this product for the convenience of its owner. This rod includes a special handle made of spongy fiber. There should also be a special armrest. As a rule, in the metal detectors of the modern sample there is a special function of reducing or increasing the distance between this part and the armrest, which has already been mentioned above.

According to the generally accepted data, such a product is convenient if its aforementioned length is equal to the length of the owner's brush. With this barbell, the operator, who wants to find a metal object, fixes his hand in the most suitable position for him. In the metal detector, in addition to the main and the largest barbell, there is another small rod. It is located at the bottom of the main rod and is fixed on it with a special ring, which is clamped with this attachment.

The owner of such a fascinating product will easily be able to increase or reduce the length of his product. This is to ensure that the operator does not have to raise his hand high or bend down to put the metal detector on the ground during the search process. All of these devices are additional advantages when using such a product.

The last element in the design of the metal detector is a special coil designed to search for metal objects. It is fixed on a small bar. The fixtures in this connection are a nut and bolt, which are made of high-quality plastic materials. This search coil is connected to the bottom bar. It is not only very convenient, but also very functional. The operator searching for metal objects can adjust the angle between the coil and the barbell at any time. This arrangement of this element provides the most comfortable search for the owner of the metal detector, and certainly a safer process.

As a rule, metal devices for the search for the relevant metal objects are divided into several groups. They can be classified for the purposes of their acquisition, and certainly for the purposes of their use. There are special military, construction, security metal detectors, as well as electronic products, with which specialists extract various minerals, archaeological treasures and valuable metals. Of course, for each of these purposes there are completely different types of metal detectors. In order to choose a metal detector suitable for a particular person, each type of this device must be familiarized in detail.

The first type of metal detector is a military product capable of finding mine devices. As a rule, such military mine detectors do not have sufficient anti-discrimination settings. They do not classify metal products by their traversability and composition. Before various plastic mines appeared, such products lacked sufficient sensitivity to the smallest metal objects. But in the twenty-first century, the country's security needs to be taken more seriously, and therefore mine detectors are now able to find such products. And they can be even the smallest springs, located in plastic mines.

This improvement is, of course, very important not only for all kinds of state security services, but also for the civilian population, as we are talking about tens of thousands of lives. So, modern mine detectors are able to detect at a sufficient distance even the smallest spring, which can cause many troubles. The mine detector, which is planned for such purposes, should be chosen regardless of different weather conditions and other environmental indicators. Such products are able to function in the cold and heat. This is the specificity of their use. Mine detectors should be high-quality, very convenient to operate, and, of course, just reliable.

The second type of such metal detectors are products used for protection purposes. Typically, such electronics are common in various security systems. Everyone is able to imagine such devices for safety. They are various arches or frames that are located in clubs, airports, shopping and entertainment centers, concert halls and so on. The use of such, simple at first glance, metal detectors, allows you to easily check on a huge number of people the presence of metal objects. There are also special metal detectors that allow security officers to carry out personal searches of each client. With these products, you can also check a person's luggage for dangerous items. As a rule, such security metal detectors are used by prisons and, of course, internal troops. This is done for the safety of their employees.

The appropriate type of different metal detectors is also used for high-quality repair and construction stages. This product may be needed by every person when his apartment or house is repaired. For example, in order to reconstruct a dilapidated structure, you need to know where the wiring or sewer pipes take place. With these devices you can also find out the location of different structures, which are very dangerous to demolish. Of course, people who have decided to seriously repair their personal space should thoroughly prepare for this, as drilling in certain places of wiring can be extremely dangerous.

The search for various gifts of nature, such as precious metals and native gold deposits, can be made with the same special type of product. There are special modern metal detectors that are designed to search for minerals. For example, gold nuggets are found by many people with the appropriate device. Many places rich in such bullion, became known thanks to miners who searched for treasures and used these products in the search. Of course, before the advent of metal detectors, gold was searched. But its duration was ten times longer than it is now.

For archaeological purposes, metal detectors of a special type are also used. They can be used to find various treasures of interest to both historians and collectors. The metal detector frees the archaeologist from the need to make the most complex excavations in a place where the presence of the desired objects is only assumed.

This use of metal detectors is also very common in the twenty-first century.
But in addition to such professional purposes of the use of metal detectors, it is possible to distinguish the amateur use of these items.

For example, a lot of people buy them to find treasure, coins, jewelry or even treasures. Of course, such a find will be very unexpected and, of course, joyful. And it doesn't matter what this person finds. It can be an ancient gold Russian or even a foreign coin, which has great value. Its value is usually directly proportional to its age.

Of course, various earrings, bracelets and rings, which are more than fifty or even a hundred years old, will be a significant and pleasant find for any treasure hunter. But in addition, there are large treasures, which can find every lucky and persistent person who has a great desire and enough time for it. Of course, the buyer, who decided to make such an acquisition, should understand that its cost determines its functional range, its reliability and quality. Just its cost usually corresponds to the simplicity of the design, and certainly the purpose of the metal detector.

Now it is necessary to understand, with the help of what devices and mechanisms the metal detector is able to distinguish the consistency of metal objects and even their alloys. It is also necessary to understand how metal objects are classified by the composition of their metals. So, with the help of a special design, the metal detector emits an electromagnetic field, which is in the head of the search and is emitted by this detail. It operates in a wide area and operates under a variety of conditions. This electromagnetic signal can penetrate into the ground, water, wooden structures and even into the tree itself. A wave of search coils can pass through air, water or even stones. Once the search coil has found the long-awaited metal object, it creates vortex currents that are directly on these metal objects.

With these vortex currents, the search head's electromagnetic fields meet the fields of metal objects. Thus, the search coil emits electromagnetic waves, which at this point become less powerful, and, accordingly, this change in the settings of the device is fixed by a special department of the metal detector. After that, all information is generated and sent to the electronic unit, then the discovery of a metal object is signaled to the owner of this metal detector and he takes appropriate measures. The consistency of the metal object and the alloy of metals from which it is made is determined by comparing the electrical conductivity of the object and many other criteria.

Of course, the cost of such an unusual device, as a rule, is a determining factor for potential buyers. Of course, low-cost models of such items are radically different from more advanced and expensive metal detectors. So what should the buyer know before going to the store and what he can expect by choosing a certain model based only on its cost? We need to figure it out.

So, models of metal detectors of different cost differ in the same way the emission systems of electromagnetic fields and radio magnetic waves. They also send signals to these metal objects in different ways, and counter signals are generated in very different ways. So, what are the advantages of expensive models of metal detectors compared to their cheaper counterparts? They are able to determine which metal is made of the found object with high enough accuracy. This is necessary in order not to dig up every time any rusty nail. And another undeniable advantage is the precise definition of the depth at which the object is located.

This will allow the owner of the metal detector to accurately calculate their strength, as the excavation of such items - it is not easy. Mineral saturation of ground surfaces has less effect on the positive outcome of search on expensive devices. In addition to all the aforementioned improvements, such devices include a huge number of different functions, which are not exactly found in cheap metal detectors. But, of course, first of all, the cost of the product depends on the purpose of its purchase and use, as for the use of metal detectors in different operating conditions, their cost will vary.
Metal detectors can also be divided into groups in terms of functionality, convenience and, of course, cost. So, there are metal detectors, specially designed for people who have always dreamed of finding treasure or treasures, but decided to buy such a product only now. And such metal detectors, as a rule, are designed for constant movement of the search coil on the ground, water, wood and other all sorts of objects. They are able to help novice treasure hunters for their non-complex purposes.

There are also more reliable metal detectors, which belong to the middle class, both in quality and in value. Such metal detectors are able to work in static and dynamic adjustment work. These specific electronic products are distinguished by instant alarm when approaching the search coil even to the smallest metal object. Of course, this is a huge plus. Also, metal detectors of the middle class have a remarkable ability to accurately determine the composition of metals and the depth of their laying. Such metal detectors are usually sold along with different search coils that have different dimensions and search parameters. They sometimes even have an oval shape. These products don't have microscopic processors, which is why there are so many different adjustments and details.

There are also metal detectors, which are equipped with a special system of microscopic processors. For the greater convenience of their owner, metal detectors are equipped with a touch screen. They are equipped with a special liquid crystal display. Sometimes an arrow indicator is used as a replacement for such a device. But this is now extremely rare. Liquid crystal screens are only in this type of metal detectors. This is their distinctive feature. There is also a special microscopic controller system. In such electronics there are the necessary number of keys that are controlled by a sensory mechanism. This is to make the program's task very fast and convenient. As a rule, such metal seekers are able to do their work both in sand conditions (e.g. on the beach), as well as in the forest or even in various architectural structures. In fact, the purpose of using such products is quite broad.

There are also metal detectors that are designed to search for metal objects at the depth of the ground or even water. They have a special design, which is a large mechanism with heads. This mechanism is distinguished by the presence of two coils, one of which receives the signal, and the other transmits it to the corresponding department of the metal detector. These coils also include two special heads to search for. They are connected by a special attachment, but in order to the signals of these coils, different in their properties, are not intertwined, they are also separated by a special device. One of these two search heads creates a special field, and when this signal is refracted by the magnetic field of the metal object, the second coil catches it and generates it. Typically, we are talking about electromagnetic fields with a frequency ranging from twelve to eighty-two kHz.

The most specific purpose of purchasing metal detectors is such a device designed to detect gold found in nature in the form of nuggets. Such products have their own special design and, of course, they are made by unique technologies. For example, when people search for nuggets using average metal detectors that are not designed for such purposes, small particles of gold material are not displayed by the device as something worthwhile. That's why they're very difficult to find. Another factor that makes it difficult to find gold without special devices is that gold nuggets are usually located in the ground, which contains a large amount of magnetite. And, of course, most conventional metal detectors do not function in the ground with a high concentration of minerals, while gold bars are in such an environment. Therefore, in special gold detectors the frequency of the electronic field is not three to ten kHz, but from eighteen to seventy kHz. At the same time in such products there are also special heads for the search for bullion. They usually form an elliptical.

Of course, this article should help the potential buyer of the metal detector in determining the necessary goals and, of course, the desired products for themselves.
