Depth metal detectors are a separate story. And the flagship XP model with the Xtrem Hunter nozzle is even more so. This is a universal tool for searching for metals on any soil. Thanks to the powerful combination of coils, you can count on exceptional depth, sensitivity and separation of targets. The TX coil is specially designed to reach an impressive depth of up to 5 meters, it is suitable for detecting large relics and jewelry. On the other hand, the RX coil provides excellent target separation, easily recognizes individual targets.
Well, now let's move on to the most important thing: how to dig with XP Xtrem Hunter.
First, check and prepare the CBM. The DEUS II must have firmware 2.0 or higher. Then connect Xtrem Hunter. Pairing occurs according to a scheme similar to that of a conventional coil. For those who don't remember: Settings – Pairing – Coil – Number entry. After that, a special section for a depth metal detector will appear on the remote control.
Then grab the nozzle itself. You will need to adjust the length of the handle and the position of the shoulder strap. It is important to locate the Xtrem Hunter's search unit at a sufficient distance from the ground to avoid reactions to small targets on the ground surface. It is best if the belt is on the shoulder, and its length is sufficient to confidently hold the handle in your hand.
Then there is one more point. It is definitely worth checking your clothes and accessories before starting your search. Metal objects such as knives, belt harnesses, smartphones, and metal inserts in shoes can cause false alarms. The manufacturer generally recommends rain boots, but I can recommend EVA, sports boots or sneakers. Unless, of course, you are digging in the summer and not in hellish mud. Then the swamp dwellers, what is there. Just in case, ring them with a pin so that there is no metal. It will be a shame to dig a subway or two because of the wire in the sole.
Now the sweetest part is the settings. Perform the noise reduction procedure to choose the best communication channel. To do this, hold down the upper right button on the remote control, starting an automatic search for the best channel among the 14 available. If interference occurs, try reducing the sensitivity to 60-70% and lowering the Audible Response setting to 1. It is also useful to raise the reel higher above the ground.
After that, it's time to search. Once the settings are complete, start driving, regularly adjusting to adapt to the terrain. Look at the screen to have an idea of the size and depth of the target. The horizontal scale is calibrated every second, the screen shows the last 4 seconds of detection. Targets closer to the surface will produce a double signal, while deeper targets will produce a single signal.
When the target is found, take the pinpoint. It is also peculiar. To refine the target's location, first turn off Auto Setup (GRAB) and manually reset the Xtrem Hunter from the ground. Then, slowly move the metal detector around the target to determine its exact location. You can increase the speed setting to speed up the process.
Then, what to do - dig. You will have to dig from half a meter to one and a half to two. Usually, it is still more convenient to dig targets at greater depths with an excavator. But if you have a team of cheerful friends who are not averse to digging up a pipe (or a gun) at a depth of 2-5 m, then, as they say, a shovel is in your hands!
That's all, perhaps. Another small note – it's better to use headphones for clearer signals. They say that this significantly increases the chances of successful discovery of treasures.
