Gold and Silver found on Oak Island

Oak Island in Nova Scotia, Canada, is considered one of the most famous places associated with a mysterious buried treasure, surrounded by many legends and theories, including the presence of vast amounts of gold and silver.

What has actually been found?

Over more than 200 years of continuous and hazardous excavation efforts (which have resulted in deaths), the "great treasure" composed of millions of gold or silver coins mentioned in the legend has not been definitively found.

However, significant artifacts and indicators have been found supporting the theory of mysterious human activity on the island.

 These discoveries include the following:

Coins: A number of ancient coins have been found, some dating back to the late 16th and early 17th centuries (such as Spanish maravedís coins), and some have been recently discovered using metal detectors.

Indications of the presence of precious metals:In early excavation attempts, specifically in 1805, some sources reported finding gold coins near the 'Money Pit,' but their quantity or significance was not notably determined.

When using the auger in the late 19th century, reports indicated that the drill penetrated a layer of "loose, hard metallic pieces" to a depth of about 98 feet (30 meters), which was considered potential evidence of coins or jewelry. It was also said that the drill brought up parts of a gold chain attached to it.

Quartz (which may indicate gold): Some quartz samples were found on the island, and in some contexts, their presence may be associated with gold in geological formations.

Other Important Discoveries:

Lead Cross: Discovered at Smith's Cove, it is believed to date back to the 14th or 15th century and supports the theory of a deeper historical connection, possibly with the Knights Templar.

Coconut Fibers: Large quantities were found at various depths, some of which are estimated to be around 700 years old, indicating that this material, unusual for the region, may have been used in a complex engineering system (possibly filters to prevent water flooding).

Wooden Platforms and Complex Structures: These were discovered at different depths in the 'Money Pit,' suggesting the presence of organized and sophisticated engineering work.

Gold and silver (in the form of massive treasures) have not yet been definitively and fully discovered on Oak Island. The story remains an ongoing mystery. However, scattered gold and silver coins have been found, along with indications of precious metals in some drilling samples, in addition to numerous historical artifacts that reinforce the belief that something valuable is buried there.
