The nearly century-old American company Fisher Labs is considered one of the world leaders in the development of metal detectors, and one of their most popular models is the good old F75, which the manufacturer itself classifies as a hobbyist model, yet it is by no means a 'beginner's' detector. It is valued for its good detection depth and speed of response, the option to choose one of four operating frequencies (the standard is 13 kHz). Ground balance can be manual or automatic, depending on preference, and static searching is supported. Good protection against electromagnetic interference is also a significant plus; anyone who has tried using a hobbyist model under power lines will understand.
The central place on the display is occupied by a large VDI indicator, while the other indicators and menus are somewhat 'spread out' to the sides. The settings menu is not very clear - I will have to read the manual to remember how mode bc differs from PF or dE.
There are certainly some unclear aspects of the metal detector as well. Although the non-disable backlight doesn’t consume batteries (the F75 is quite good in terms of efficiency), it can sometimes be quite distracting, and in the grass, the metal detector can start to become tiresome with phantom noise. But overall, this metal detector will definitely make a good choice in its class – and its popularity did not come from nowhere.
